Big Blue

It’s not often we have a client nickname the project, but Big Blue was definitely that. Frustrated with the builder-grade lack of storage space in their new home’s laundry room and finding that off-the-shelf options either did not fit or offered little functionality, the client tasked us with creating more storage out of little space. Utilizing their high ceilings but addressing the narrow passage through the laundry room, we custom-built floor-to-ceiling cabinets to maximize every inch. The client’s father was a former US Marine, and she had grown up living on various Marine Corps bases. As a nod to his years of dedication and service, she opted to have them painted the appropriately named Sherwin-Williams Dress Blues from the Marine Corps dress blues uniform.
